Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend,
even a stranger, when in a lonely place.
Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. 

Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools
and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled
with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep

What has happened in the past is something that’s meant to bring you lessons in life, not regrets. Regrets are for those who are not strong enough to forgive themselves and accept the things that do happen. People make mistakes, but holding grudges against others gets you no where. The definition of life is as follows: a condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity and continual change preceding death. In other words, life is the ability to grow and change as times come and go. It’s the ability to adapt to what mother nature throws our way and accept the given challenges presented to us. Life isn’t perfect. If it was, there would be no pain and suffering, no natural disasters, no children without parents, no children losing their lives before their lives have even begun… but every day these things occur. Even with all the sorrow and hatred in this world, every day people get up in the morning and begin a new day. Every day the sun is still shining down kissing the cheeks of those who walk beneath her rays. The sun is still shining even when there is complete cloud cover, you just can’t see her. Every day, our earth gives us something to live for. For long days under cloudless skies, long walks barefoot feeling only the soft grass between your toes, holding the hand of a loved one as you cuddle beneath a blanket and stare into the billions of stars shining above. So why regret the things in life we cannot change? Live your life as best as you can and don’t sweat the things you cannot change. If those surrounding your life choose to hold onto what has happened in the past instead of look toward the future, maybe it’s for a reason. So save the ones you can; & the rest, you’ve got to let go.
